Our Journey

Every year $2.5 trillion is lost globally in wasted productivity, absenteeism, and staff turnover as a result of poor mental wellbeing.

One in three people at work have been formally diagnosed with a mental health condition yet only 2-4% of staff engage with Corporate Wellbeing services.

Temple was an employer funded mental wellbeing app that offered a range of engaging practices, delivered through a daily 15 minute course for workers. Temple aimed to make mind maintenance an aspirational and proactive daily habit. We lent from game design to curate engaging and digestible daily courses, designed to boost positivity and in turn business performance.

Temple was initially set up as a company to scale in the wellbeing space and then with the emergence of Covid-19 we pivoted to support workers during the lockdown period.

The year following the emergence of Covid-19 was uniquely challenging for billions of people around the world and our mission to support employees’ mental wellbeing through digital solutions resonated incredibly well with users, customers, partners, and investors alike.

Our proof of concept was deployed and adopted much faster than we had anticipated as companies tried to respond to the challenges of remote work during the first lockdowns. Users immediately recognised the value of ‘bitesize’ courses, and our corporate customers responded well to both the commercial model as well as the initial focus on developing resilience through daily positive psychology habits and practices.

Covid-19 changed the circumstances of our founding team and we decided to discontinue Temple. Despite this we made many learnings and we are also very proud of the impact that the App has had on people’s mental strength and resilience particularly during such a difficult time.

Some of the results that we are most pleased with are below:

  • Minimum Viable Product tested across multiple geographies with hundreds of users at Microsoft, Heyne Tillett Steel and New Signature.

  • Temple achieved 3x higher user retention levels than the industry standard.

  • 95% of users requested the continued use of Temple from their employer.

  • 80% of users reported more optimism.

  • Of the 4 completed trials 2 companies requested a contract with the set price of one year.
